Character Name: Malik Pronounced: MAH – lick (the A in MAH sounds like the a in hat, cat, bat, etc.) Gender: stallion Age: six years, in his prime Side: Forsyth; Emperor of Castin Other Characters: Alianora, mare of Demascus ; Damon, stallion of Demascus
Appearance: Malik is a chestnut. His pelt is deep red. So deep, in fact, that blood will look like sweat if there is no glint from the sunlight. When looking at the stallion from a distance, few would believe the rank he holds. He’s not unnaturally big; he doesn’t appear as though he would be particularly fast; he doesn’t even appear to boast any major scars. Up close, he still isn’t huge; he still doesn’t look fast; and the only true scar he carries is from a sword, and it’s on his left shoulder. There are a several nicks along the sides of his barrel from spurs and whatnot, but other than that, Malik’s pelt looks fairly decent compaired to the other horses in Cappadocia.
However, upon close inspection, one will immediately notice his aura. He stands like a leader, he looks like a leader. Very few, based solely on that, would question him. Even though he stands at 17.1 hands, very few want his piercing gaze turned on them. His eyes have seen it all: murder, deceit, death, betrayal, birth, love, happiness, you name it. He is wise in the world beyond his years. Few things get past those deep brown orbs. He manages to hold Forsyth not by fear of him, but by love of him. Malik has fought numerous times, but if one asks him how he won, he will merely say luck. Every now and again, especially when it is cold, his shoulder will twang. The pain, or ache really, has been known to cause him to fall flat on his face. One day, it’ll probably be the death of him.
Personality: Many would argue that Malik’s strong persona is his weak point. Others would say that it is because of his personality that he is able to rule Forsyth in peace. Both stands are probably accurate. On the one hand, he judges his subjects, so to speak, with complete fairness. He is loved by his horses for his rulings. And really, if one just wants to know him, he’ll graze with just about anyone. Malik can be harsh, at times, but even then, his horses seem to love him. He can appeal to the masses and the individuals at the same time. Really, Malik is a good public speaker…and almost all would agree that he is just and wise with his decisions.
On the other hand, this persona could be his undoing. In battle, for instance, he will hesitate to kill an enemy soldier, preferring to scare ths shit out of the horse and go about his business. These enemies can always come back to fight again. However, in a strange way to sort of counteract this – for he knows of this flaw – he will take prisoners. And then these prisoners are generally decently fed and well watered. Rarely can Malik give a death sentence. The murder of a foal, however…
Rp Sample: Do I really have to do this??? –puppy eyes-
Other: He was captured in 33 BC, as a yearling, and shipped off to war. Three years later, he was shipped back for extra training. Before man left Cappadocia, he escaped with several other horses and started a herd. Once man left in 30 BC, Forsyth was founded. He has ruled since 6 months later.
