These rules are not long, they are just broken up into sections for easier access for members and guests.
The following words have been defined and are NOT permitted or tolerated on Cappadocia:
001. Power-playing: In a role-play, controlling other people’s characters.
002. God-moding: Role-playing your character in a manner that makes him/her seem immortal, invincible and all knowing. Basically ‘perfect’
003. Bunnying: Making another character seem inferior to make your own character look better (for example “His legs were so skinny I could probably break them)
004: Spamming: Posting unsolicited messages over an electronic messaging system (Cappadocia Chatbox) or posting the same message over and over again (those who double advertise, i.e. do not pay attention to whether their site has already been advertised, are considered spammers.
005. Arguing: A dispute where there is strong disagreement. As it occurs on Cappadocia: the continuous arguing between two members or a member and member of staff.
006: Profanity: Vulgar or irrelevant speech or action. Profanity is allowed IC ONLY with the characters speaking or acting profanely. Verbal abuse is not necessary anywhere on Cappadocia.
Common Rules of Cappadocia
001. Keep IC to IC and OOC to OOC.
002. While we all understand that these role-playing games are online and you will probably never meet the people you are interacting with, we do ask that you act maturely and interact maturely, IC and OOC.
003. If any member encounters a problem – whether with the site, with another member or with any one from Staff – please PM Staff; do NOT advertise your problem all over Cappadocia, whether in the Chatbox or on the boards. Also, try not to be accusationall or confrontational with Staff, it will be to your own benefit.
004. Staff loves to hear all ideas and suggestions from members. Do so nicely though
Registering and Applying
001. When it comes to applying please abide by all application rules, including using the correct forum and filling out all of the areas completely and as accurately (to your character) as possible. Please complete all applications in a timely manner.
002. Do NOT leave your application incomplete without [wip] somewhere in your subject title.
003. One account per character – helps with organization as well as a direct way to recognize characters who are apart of The Damascus, The Forsyth or The Outcasts.
004. Make sure that the name of your accounts are the name of your characters, not something irrelevant.
005. As stated before, no perfect characters.
006. If Staff ask you to edit your application, please do so. We don’t request it just to aggravate you or make your life horrible. If you feel you have a valid reason to keep any part of your application the way it is, then POLITELY explain yourself.
007. Do not argue with staff about your application. The biggest problem we have with applications are ‘too perfect of a character.’ If you don’t have valid negative characteristics in your character’s personality and appearance, you will be asked to edit and add (as well as role-play) some negatives.
008. An application will only be denied if the wrong subject or forum is used, or if there is a deliberate neglect for rules.
009. There is no limit to the amount of characters you may have, as long as they are ALL active and they are all role-played to the BEST of their owner's capabilities.
010. No character may enter the site with peculiar markings, eye colours or any type of armor. That is all earned IC.
011. Please see the CappaShop thread for more information on purchasing and how the system works.
Basic In-Character Rules
001. Literate role-play means no one liners with incorrect grammar and every word be misspelled. 150 words minimum per post, and pay attention to your spelling and grammar!
002. Liquid time is allowed, so you can be in multiple threads at one time. You may not age your character excessively or not age them at all.
003. No chat speak, i.e. l8er, bbl, ily. It just makes you look dumb and incompetent.
004. Do NOT, under any circumstances, re-use, copy or recycle a post or any part of a post. There is nothing more aggravating than taking your time to type up a nice, fresh post and someone replying with a post they just used two minutes ago on another thread.
Breeding and Foaling
001. Both breeding and foaling are done year round. Thus, a mare may choose when she can breed and when she will foal (as long as she isn’t pregnant for two years, and as long as she doesn't try and foal two days after breeding)
002. Going off of Rule 1, the most ideal seasons for breeding are Fall and Winter while the most ideal seasons for foaling are Spring and Summer.
003. Birthing is done one season apart. Thus if you breed in Fall, you will birth in Spring. If you breed in Winter, you will birth in Summer. If you breed in Spring you will birth in Fall, and if you breed in Summer you will birth in Winter.
004. Breeding or Foaling in a season that it is not ideal for one or the other could result in the mating not working, a stillborn or the foal eventually dieing.
005. Force breeding is allowed, though both characters must give consent UNLESS the mare is in an area where force-breeding is allowed.
006. On Cappadocia, mares and stallions become fertile (are able to breed) at the age of 3, though that’s not to say that you cannot try before that age.
007. A filly becomes a mare at age 3 and a colt becomes a stallion at age 3.
Rules of Claiming
001. A mare may be claimed anywhere, but she may only be force-claimed in certain lands (which are specified in the board descriptions)
002. A mare may be force-claimed twice. This means if she is force-claimed by a stallion and she does not want to be with that stallion, she may go and intentionally be force-claimed by another stallion whether it is organized or not.
003. While in the process of being claimed, a stallion can force-claim a mare and then directly after that another stallion may come up and force-claim her. This, obviously, causes a lot of problems. ;]
004. Only stallions may lead or claim a land or mare.
005. Lords, Leaders and Commanders are appointed by the overall rulers of the regions; Warlord appoints Lords, Emperor appoints Leads and Ehfton Leaders appoint Commanders.
006. Stallions may show interest in wanting to lead a land, but only the most loyal, disciplined and dedicated – both to their region AND the site – will be appointed.
007. Basically, don’t go claiming ANY land.
008. It is the goal of each region to obtain as much land as possible, especially once there is not enough resources (land, food, water). This is the reason for the ‘Unclaimed Territories’ being around. Over time they will be up for claim as the site gets more active.
009. The boards under the ‘Unclaimed’ Category MAY NOT BE CLAIMED at random. They may be role-played on and dominated by one region or another, but they cannot be legally claimed until under ‘Site Status’ it is stated what lands may be claimed. They may also be purchased when they are available at the CappaShop.
010. When a land may be claimed, it is up to each region to send their best fighters to the land, claim it and keep it claimed until there is no longer a fight over it. (This rule does not apply when a land is purchased. The land automatically belongs to the region that purchased it)
011. Staff will decide, unbiasely, what region gets a land if the fights do not stop on their own.
012. When a land is up for grabs and in order to reduce confusion, Staff will send out a mass PM stating what land is up for claiming and to go claim it!
013. When the time comes for a land to be claimed, any character may go to the land and help in claiming in for their region; this helps to show dedication and courage on your characters part, and thus a good way to earn a rank - winkwink -
Fighting
001. Fight anywhere, with anyone and for whatever reason you desire.
002. Official fights - such as those over territory or stealing a mare - must be overlooked by a member of Staff to not only ensure that the fighting (role-playing) is done fairly, but to also declare a winner.
003. Even for non-official fights, Staff will look in on these threads and ensure that there isn't any power-playing, god-moding or bunnying going on.
004. A single character, such as a Lord or Leader, may be targeted several different times by several different stallions, as it is common in the wild. However, a stallion may withdraw from a battle if they are too weak to battle, but by doing so they forfeit whatever is being fought over (mare, land, rank etc)
005. One region may delcare war on another region for a recently claimed land, or any land for that matter.
