Being the most northern herd land makes Ananchel very uncomfortable in the Winter and certain parts of Spring. However, the horses here hardly ever suffer from drought or lack of water; they do go without food half of the year when the winter cold kills everything. The Warlord here and a few other horses that may be familiar with the land know where to find edible vegetation and places to take cover from the blizzards. If the Warlord here doesn't kill you then the land most certainly will if you're not careful. Warlord: Amoraq

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/Obliviated/Random/newav.png) | ![[image]](http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae190/blackhause/Random/lyden.png) This herd’s unfortunate position of being placed between two others Warlord's territories works for and against these horses. Besides the obvious negatives having being surrounded by their enemies, these horses must also deal with being moderately cramped between ridge-lines. The reward is that the ridges protect the herd from harsh winds and freezing temperatures, making the environment much more pleasant and fertile. Just like the territories farther below it, Lyden's water is provided for by the melting snow and rivers from the top of these towering peaks. Warlord:

Ther is a certain gloom that hangs in the air, snow painting the land white for more than half the year. Fires can sometimes be common as the tall trees act as lightening rods. There isn't much to burn other than the short stubby grass, and the high altitude doesn't give fires enough oxygen to last long. The horses here have to be cautious how they expend their energy or otherwise become deprived of the oxygen they need to breath. Warlord:

Though still apart of the mountainous terrain it is not as rugged, but receives a bit more snow than any of the herds farther down south. This herd land receives a lot of the melting snow from regions higher up, and while treacherous at times, it makes the soil very fertile and lush with grass. Pools of water are randomly placed among the rocks with a single spring carved into the mountains facade; hard to access when it's low, but always fresh. Warlord: Erebus Calibarr

Dug against a cliff is a pool of water which is inconsistently fed by a thin waterfall; often frozen during the winter. Grass is sparse around the ponds shore and almost nonexistent everywhere else. Being the second established herd of Cappadocia, though, it cannot be entirely barren. Water runs from the walls of many of the cliffs and much thicker areas of grass can be found at the bottom of those such cliffs, as well as moist crevices. Warlord:

This herd is much closer to the semi-tropical region of Pontus, and so is rather warm year round. The downfall is that the mountains keep a lot of the humidity in, though provides for the grass that grows here. Lead Stallion:

Much of their cover comes from caves; the same caves that provided for these horses when man were looking to domesticate them. The entrances to these caves have what carpets of grass leading up to them, often retaining a lot of the moisture from the early morning fog that slips through; also the reason for the year round patches of snow here. The water is relatively clear with lush grass lining its shores; attracting a variety of herbivores. Mares who seek a herd may come here though risk being force-claimed and possibly raped. The Euphrates is a hot spot for many of the Warlords and a few brave, native stags who seek to save the helpless mares. The trees are taller with plenty of foliage, making the forest thick and grove-like. The warmer months bring a thin mist into the trees and Winter changes the climate from humid to dry, a lot of the plants dying or going into hibernation. Because of the cover, mares have chosen Pontus to come and birth when the time comes. Some have been known to lose their newborns in the foliage; spirits or something else? Having no outlet, this lake has a high concentration of salt - often leaving a 30 cm thick layer of salt during the summer when the water dries up! Its shores are quite barren, a neighbor to the near-by desert, and provides little more than a spectacle to wanderers. Few get the opportunity to do so since most horses that come here are stallions who are about to engage in a fight. The salty water is useful to heal ones wounds after fighting, though. There is an oddly high population of squirrels here; especially for having few trees. It can become a nuisance to the horses that come here to find mates and breed. Rape is not so common here as this is more a land for lovers; the calm wind and sweet flowers of the prairie combining to make a peaceful scene. The chattering squirrels can sometimes ruin it, especially in Fall when they are most active. Even though the man's war is now gone and many of the deceased were properly buried, a few bodies were missed; more horses than people. It's an unfortunate thing to see, but most of the bodies have been dismally covered by dirt and have almost completely decayed; thankfully. Finding this land less than suitable for anything functional, horses come here to remember or to help them forget, sometimes even to teach new generations. There have been brief sightings of specters as well as eerie noises, though, so be careful.

The beach is covered in white sand with crabs scuttling around on the ground while gulls and sea falcons swarm the sky. Part of its shores lead right up to the ridges of Cappadocia, making this a common land of meet and greet for those who don't want to join a herd right away.
