Seriously, read everything here before you even look at the ‘How to’ thread; this will be very informative and save those applying from either being declined or having to change their application. We want you to be accepted as fast as possible and this will help you to do that. We – those of staff – do NOT enjoy ‘ripping apart’ an application, in the sense that we point out things to be changed. We like to read the application and, at the most, point out grammar mistakes. Now, some of what you see here will be repeated on the ‘How to’ thread, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t read what is there.
CHECK HERE REGULARLY FOR NEW UPDATES - Yes, these rules will change and rules will be edited or completely removed with the advancement of the site. Until then, follow the rules.
- If you are declined, it’s only permanent if YOU don’t change what is necessary.
- The only thing that can cause you to be immediately declined is the wrong subject forum or wrong application forum. We mean it. The codes are given to you. Use it!
- Ya know, we can tell when you haven't read the rules and it's really aggrivating to discover you haven't; especially when some of the rules and information are repeated here. READ EVERYTHING! Don't be neglectful.
- If you want to be ‘the exception’ to any rules, don’t be arrogant or rude and just apply with the crazy horse that has blue eyes, is 19 hands high and has a horrible past. NO! Contact THE OWNER over PM, explain what you want and WHY. Don’t just say ‘I want my horse to have blue eyes.’ You’ll get a no.
- While we’re talking about eye colour – only brown. Point blank. No greens, purples, blacks or ‘glowing red.’ Horses with blue eyes are rare, and certainly will NOT happen any more naturally in the wild than it captivity. Man focused on breeding the ‘perfect’ war horse, NOT horses with crazy eye colours.
- INCLUDE NEGATIVES AND POSITIVES! It cannot be repeated enough. Scars are not a negative for a characters appearance – do your scars hinder you from fighting? Maybe emotionally, okay, but physically – no. Appearance flaws: low endurance (can’t run for long periods of time, or fight for that matter), low agility (not very graceful), low speed (can’t run very fast), lack of strength (not very muscular). Those are just a few, and make sure that your positives don’t contradict your negatives.
- Personality flaws are numerous and can vary by character. You don’t have to strictly abide by the common characteristics of War horses or Native Horses. Keep in mind that no horse is perfect, and no horse will be accepted here who seems perfect.
- ‘Well I meant he was supposed to come off this way.’ How you type something up and mean for it to come off, will probably not come off the way you want. We don’t read minds. We can’t assume that your characters extreme aggression affects him this way, or that his/her pride effects him/her that way. We don’t know that. That’s why it’s good to ELABORATE!
- Just because a horse is tall, doesn’t mean it’s strong and muscular. Just because a horse is small, doesn’t mean it’s weak. Get it?
- NO HORSE WILL BE ACCEPTED TALLER THAN 18 HANDS HIGH. This doesn’t mean every character need apply being 18 hands high.
- I'd say the average height of horses is 15 - 16 hands. Remember this when applying.
- We don't mind if you explain something to us or 'discuss' something we've pointed out in your application, but do NOT argue with us. We are very negotiable until you argue with us.
